Middle School Car Riders

If you are a NEW middle school student (this includes incoming 5th graders) to LPS, please fill out this form to request a car rider number.
- If you are a RETURNING middle school student needing a replacement a new car rider tag, please fill out this form.

High School Car Riders
- No car rider number or car tag is required.

Student Drivers
Student parking passes can be purchased and the permission slips completed on Roar into School Business Day on August 1st or Walk Your Schedule Night on August 6th. The cost for a student parking pass is $50, and this must be paid in person with EXACT cash or check. Once school starts, students and parents may purchase these during regular school hours. The cost of student parking passes is not prorated, so they will be the same cost no matter when they are purchased.
You will need to bring the following information when you complete your permission slip.
- Address
- Phone Number
- Driver’s License
- Make, Model, and Color of Vehicle
- License Plate Number
- The parent should sign the permission slip in person with the student.

Tips to Find Your Bus Number
- If a 9th, 10th, or 11th grader attends Lakeland Prep and has been assigned a stop, e-link will show that they attend Lakeland Prep. The stop information shown in the below example is what you should see.
- If you see "You attend Arlington HS" as in the example below, please fill out this form to receive assistance.

- Bus is excessively early or late to a designated stop.
- Bus completely misses or does not pick up at a stop.
- Parent/student is having an issue with a driver.

Durham Bus Tracker App
The Durham Bus Tracker App is available for parent/guardians with students currently riding general education buses.
- Obtain your child’s “Other ID” from Skyward by clicking on the “Student Info” tab on your child’s Skyward account and have it available for Step 4 below. This code may be as few as two or as many as seven digits long.
- Download the Durham Bus Tracker App from Apple App Store, Google Play Store or view it on a Web browser.
- Create a secure Username and Password for the application.
- Click on (+) and enter student name, Skyward ID (add 797 before the ID to identify Lakeland Schools like this: 797###.). Select Shelby Municipals and State. Click done and save.
- Start tracking your student’s bus by clicking on your student’s name.
- Your student’s route number will show at the top of your phone. If you double click on the bus shown, it will show the GPS number actually running the route. The number may be different from the route number and allows Durham to substitute buses and still provide accurate information for your student.
